Month 2 Day 51 of 365
Beginning Your Day
Gratitude and Forgiveness
Begin your day with gratitude and forgiveness. Start your day with thoughts and appreciation for YOU, for your body, for your health and for your life. Begin today and each day with forgiveness. Forgive yourself and others for all negative actions, activities, words and thoughts. Allow yourself to feel forgiveness within, release it, begin to relax and feel good within your mind and body. Begin to each day with this mindset, it will allow YOU to create and develop mental and emotional balance within your life.
The Process of Empowerment
The process of empowerment begins with establishing a goal. To start this process YOU will have to determine that there is something in your life that YOU really want to change, get better at or completely eliminate. This knowing and willingness will come directly from within. The process begins with the acknowledgement of your needs and and self knowledge. It comes from being completely honest with yourself and completely focusing on the thing that YOU know in your heart YOU need to work on. Begin the process by sitting alone and examining your life, your thoughts, activities, feelings and emotions. The process of change and self development powerful life changing action. This decision to change YOU becomes your line in the sand and a defining moment within your life. This first and most important choice is deciding that there is something that YOU need to work on and change within YOU and within your life. The second and equally important choice or decision is becoming completely sure that YOU really want to work on (put forth effort or to simply try) to make the necessary changes within your life. This becomes your defining moment, this becomes your fork in the road and this choice/decision is vital because it is the first step on to the path of self help, personal development, change and empowerment. This brings us to the next step in the process of empowerment. This step is being sure that YOU really want to change. This is the place where most people run into the wall. They are all amped up about the idea of change, they have made their resolutions, told all of their friends and family members. Some purchase a membership with the local fitness center; hire a personal trainer or purchase books or a video or two. Some purchase patches, gum or flush or pour their problem down the drain in preparation for change. They get started and within a matter of days “flop” and they are right back at it again. Why? It is because nothing changed within! Only the external activities changed momentarily, but nothing changed with the mindset of the individual. This is where effort is important. There are several levels within the process of change and we are discussing the most important. This is where the “work” begins. The work begins with establishing a new mindset and thoughts. Your thoughts are important because they lead YOU and guide YOU. Your mindset is your concrete, established way of thinking and behaving. If you do not have a transition within your process of thinking then nothing truly occurs, only a waste of time and money. Being certain is one thing the action of effort in the areas on thought and action are two separate things entirely. Effort plays and important role mentally, emotionally and physically. For example if YOU are attempting to lose weight and you are shopping and you “see” your favorite cookies, very early within the process the challenge begins. The old mindset says “get them” usually the cookies satisfies some feeling or emotion that you’ve hidden or covered over the years. Or you may say “I like them” and you could possibly like them, but eating those cookies are taking you away from the direction of your path. Effort begins with training yourself to say no, substituting the cookies with something healthier or repeating to yourself how much YOU really want to change. Your thoughts here are important. This is where commitment and the Empowerment Pledge come in to the picture. The role of the pledge is to reinforce your commitment to self and working on YOU. Commitment defined is an agreement or pledge to do something in the future. This agreement is something that has to take place within, within your thoughts and mind. Commitment is something that assists YOU with being determined to succeed and it is accompanied with drive and determination. It is the inside working to change the outside. In other words, it is your inner world of thoughts, feelings and emotions that YOU are putting forth the effort and working internally to change. This change has to begin within YOU. This change can only be seen externally once it has already taken place internally or within. There are lots of people who have surgeries and take all types of supplements, drugs, medications and other substances to assist with solving, but they never seem to completely change because they are not doing it themselves. Utilizing your own internal power and will is becoming a lost art within this fast pace, microwave society in which we currently live. We have forgotten that in everything there is a process and we must begin to “respect the process.” Respecting the process is commitment, respecting the process is continuous effort and respecting the process is utilizing your natural gifts talents and abilities. Respecting the process is the daily determination to master and subdue your drives, impulses and current mindset or ways of thinking and behaving. Within the process of Empowerment there is effort, mind, thought, change, growth and personal development. This process again, is mental, emotional and then physical. Yes, change is challenging, but the satisfaction that accomplishing your goal and mastering the process brings is a joy and peace that YOU cannot imagine. With the process of Empowerment, developing and blossoming within is love, joy, peace, self-respect, self-esteem, self-confidence and personal power. Begin to “respect the process” by putting forth the effort to change YOU today, each day everyday, one day at a time.
