Youth Mentoring and Personal Empowerment Program Summary
Mission
To provide excellent one-to-one mentoring to male youth ages 5-21 referred by parent, family, program or agency program.
Our Mentoring and Empowerment Program includes:
One-on-one and group mentoring services to male youth. To develop, support and encourage the mental, physical, emotional, growth and Personal Development of each youth.
To provide services to children as defined in the Personal Development or Personal Empowerment Plan, which include, but are not limited to teaching and modeling social skills, anger management, independent living skills, health, fitness and or therapeutic recreation.
To provide guidance related to pre-employment, employment, job responsibilities, professionalism, appropriate job behavior and career development.
To maintain an ongoing relationship with mentee and provide guidance and direction in a manner that develops and nurtures personal values, morals, personal integrity and the development of a solid system of positive communication.
To maintain appropriate professional relationship and boundaries with mentee. To always demonstrate positive behaviors in the presence of the mentee.
To maintain confidentiality concerning the identity of and situations surrounding each mentoring client.
To provide mentee with academic assistance, support and tutoring services. To encourage the mentee to stay in school, to identify and further education and or educational goals. Provide help with evaluating educational choices and or directing client toward educational resources.
To coordinate all mentoring program activities with the family and referral source. To make adjustments to the activities and Personal Development or Empowerment Plan as needed.
To demonstrate positive professional, ethical and compassionate actions and values that offer mentee examples of success and happiness. Empower motivate and encourage youth to envision, strive for and achieve personal goals possibilities that may not be seen in their present environment.
