Gratitude

Begin your day with thoughts and feelings of gratitude. It is very important to start each day with feelings of gratitude and appreciation. As soon as YOU open your eyes, begin thinking of the things that YOU are grateful for. Feel the feelings of gratitude for the two most important things in your life YOU and your health. Begin this process each morning prior to your feet touching the floor to start your day. As YOU go through your day, find as many things as YOU can to be things to be grateful for.

Forgiveness
Begin today and each day with forgiveness. Breathe in and slowly release, begin to forgive yourself and others for all negative actions, activities, words and thoughts. Become completely relaxed and begin to feel forgiveness within YOU and release it. Breathe in, take a moment or two to relax and feel good on the inside. Begin each day developing a peaceful, relaxed mindset, it will allow YOU to create mental and emotional balance within your life.

The Process of Empowerment
Mental, Physical and Emotional Doubt and Fear
Once YOU begin to understand the barriers and face the obstacles in place then YOU can begin to push through them. One thing is clear here, in order to change there will be obstacles and these obstacles must be overcome. These obstacles will occur in three forms, mental, physical or emotional. There are four challenges that each of us will face within the Process of Empowerment and change. Acknowledging the obstacle is the first challenge, the second is understanding the obstacle, third is facing the obstacle and fourth overcoming the obstacle. Acknowledging the obstacle will occur during the first few days of any of the life changing processes mentioned above. Again, the obstacle or challenge to YOU will be mental, physical and or emotional. Many of us have learned to turn away from mental difficulty, physical struggle and emotional challenges. When there are instances where we have to face these challenges, we tend to take the usual route of creating distractions, emotional outbursts, melt downs or direct gratification. Because of these obstacles, we loose the fight and the will within to overcome these challenges. Once this occurs we loose focus and almost always return to the place we began or find ourselves in worse condition than when we started. Within the Empowerment process to find success, there are two major obstacles that must be overcome they are doubt and fear. Doubt and fear are the two things that truly hold us back or stands in the way of our growth and development. As we begin to embark on life changes or engage in any process that involves change doubt and fear has a way of creeping into our minds. Like everything else in the world, doubt and fear have their role to play and job to accomplish. Doubt and fear assist the programs, mindset or ways of thinking that are currently operate within. They act as maintenance programs, guards or gate keepers of the status quo or of your dominant mindset. Once YOU being to work on changing yourself, the sole job and purpose of doubt and fear is to keep you right where YOU are. Here is where the battle begins! The battle begins within your mind. The use of any and all of your mental or emotional experiences will become tools in an all out effort to maintain you where you are mentally and emotionally. Begin acknowledging your obstacles today, each day, everyday, one day at a time

The Process of Empowerment
The Power of Determination
The next phase of the process of Empowerment is determination. As we begin to move closer to the core of your personal development and Empowerment we come to an area that houses your personal power. Determination is the power and energy of both thought and channeled emotion. This power exists within the emotion of determination. Determination is a power and force that if used and directed properly can thrust YOU toward remarkable achievements. All of us are born with emotions, but few of us know how to properly utilize them. We tend to only use them for specific purposes or reasons. If understood, practiced and mastered determination can and will become the driving force within your life. Let’s take a look at how determination creates Personal Empowerment. Determination begins with a decision and once the decision is made the process of directed mental effort begins. Determination is firmly deciding that YOU are going to change and this change begins within your mind and with your thoughts. Here is where YOU will begin to consistently do the things that allow YOU to achieve your goals. In action, this decision becomes an intense focused power and authority. Taking power and authority over your life is Personal Empowerment and change begins the moment that YOU become determined that nothing in this world can and will stop YOU from reaching your goals. The Process of Empowerment
Self Discipline
Self discipline is your daily commitment to your purpose and goals. It is your ability to stay on track and committed to reaching your goal. Self discipline is your will and desire. It is your perseverance and determination to work on and change YOU. Self discipline is being in control of your thoughts and exercising restraint where necessary. Self discipline determines what YOU will and will not do. It allows YOU to simply and clearly determine the direction or course that YOU will take daily to achieve your goal. Self discipline is your ability to finish what YOU have started. Self discipline is developed by becoming consistent, committed, and focused on putting forth the effort each day to reach your goal. Self discipline is mental; it is getting yourself to put forth effort each day regardless of your physical and emotional state. Self discipline is directed thought energy focused solely on and directed toward the sole purpose of achievement of your goals. Self discipline is the mental and physical energy needed to will yourself to put forth the effort and demonstrate your ability regardless of the obstacle. Self discipline is your inner will, desire and determination. It is the combination of these emotions, which are within YOU that create personal power. The proper use and development of this personal power creates and is personal development. The consistent, daily practice of working on YOU (self discipline) will bring these emotions to the surface. With consistent practice, effort and the demonstration of your ability to do, the use of these positive emotions will become second nature to YOU. It is written, the race is not given to the swift, but to the one that endures to the end. Simply put, for most people self discipline is the missing ingredient in the formula of success. Now that YOU have been given the formula and know what it takes to reach your goal the question becomes; can YOU consistently demonstrate perseverance, restraint, endurance, think before acting and exercise control to reach your goal?

In other words self discipline is “the thing” or the energy that will allow YOU to work on the thing(s) that YOU know YOU need to work on and change. It is working on and managing your self, your conduct and behaviors. Self discipline is utilizing the tools to control and develop YOU. The process of Empower is the daily effort and consistency put forth to work on manage, train and develop YOU. Self discipline is your ability to control and motivate YOU. Self discipline is the daily effort that YOU put forth to stay on track. It is the daily effort to read, focus, visualize and practice. It is your ability to put for the effort put forth to do what is necessary to change. The process of Empowerment leads us to consistency. This consistency becomes your routine. Routine is your daily practice or habit. Through this process or habit YOU will begin to consistently pursue your goal. The development of consistent routine actually begins with effort of mind and thought. Effort of mind and thought is the root of the Empowerment.  It is at this level of directed thought and mental focus that YOU will work to gradually change your mindset, thoughts, moods, emotions, feelings, actions, activities and words. This consistency begins with your daily efforts to direct your thoughts and actions toward reaching your goal. At this stage, YOU must utilize and harness your feelings and emotions to aid and assist YOU in reaching your desired goal. It is your thought, desire and intense determination that comes from within which motivates YOU to continue each day to work on yourself. Motivation is the combination of effort and relentless, unyielding, courage and strength. This Empowerment becomes your driving force. This driving force or Empowerment allows YOU to consistently work on the parts of YOU that need change. Your consistency will allow YOU to begin to clearly identify strengths, weakness and areas of improvement.  Empowerment is your consistent repeated mental effort to demonstrate your ability to focus on and change the things that YOU know YOU need to work on within yourself and your life. The Process of Empowerment
The Actualization Phase
The process of Empowerment is a series of steps and stages that YOU will experience when attempting to change or reach a goal. The first step in the process is the thought of wanting to change or reach your goal. This thought or wanting usually is consistent and brings about discussion, a longing or desire. Within this process, your confirmation will usually come through things that YOU may see on TV, hear on the radio or in conversations with friends and family. The next step in the process is the actualization phase; this is where YOU actually start the process. The actualization phase begins with motivation, excitement and a strong desire to make a change or to reach your goal. It is within this phase that most people fail to reach their goals for several reasons. Generally, the actualization process or excitement only lasts for a few days or weeks and then it ends. At this point, most people lose desire and momentum, stop the process and return to the same old actions, activities and behaviors and back to the old lifestyle and ways of living. At this point, many begin to feel as if they just cannot get over the hump. This is where the Process of Empowerment comes in. It is at this point, that a strong foundation is developed by the utilization of the tools of Empowerment to assist YOU in pushing through and past the actualization phase and into Empowered momentum. This Empowered momentum will allow YOU to become consistent in thought and action to reach your goals. It is important to remember that the process of Empowerment is a consistent combination of daily thought and action. The process calls for creating balance, developing focus and utilizing faith on a daily basis. Begin to work on yourself today, each day, everyday one day at a time.

A Daily Practice of Consistency, Motivation, Dedication and Self Discipline
This week we continue the development of our theme “Empowerment.” This process involves establishing your goal. We outlined the importance of identifying your goal and the elements needed for your personal development, change and growth. This concept calls for honest self examination, inspection and evaluation. This process allows YOU to identify the area(s) of your life that YOU need to work on and change. Empowerment is a very valuable set of lessons that we will outline in the coming weeks that will help assist YOU in the process of growth, change, and personal development.  The process of Empowerment begins with an acknowledgement, an acknowledgement that something needs to change within your life. Once YOU have determined for yourself that something within YOU, or your life needs to change then the work begins. We begin this work with the task of simple effort. This effort is to simply try each day to reach your goal. Simply trying each day is equivalent to practice. This practice becomes consistent daily efforts to work on and change YOU. This effort requires consistency, motivation, dedication and self discipline. Consistency begins with daily practice, this practice is within the Empowerment concept is called ability. Ability is the continuous demonstration of your ability to put forth effort each day to reach your goal. Beginning Your Day
Gratitude Forgiveness and Humility
Begin this day with thoughts and feelings of gratitude, respect, appreciation and humility. It is very important to start each day with these feelings. Sit quietly, close your eyes and feel the feelings of gratitude for your sight, your hearing, your heart,  your lungs and for all of your bodily systems functioning properly. Become thankful for waking with a sound mind, your physical, mental and emotional health and for your life. Start your day with positive thoughts and with forgiveness. Start this day with forgiving yourself and others for all hurtful thoughts, words, actions, activities and behaviors. Begin to create balance in your life by leaving yesterday in the past and starting today with a renewed determination to become the best person that YOU can be.

Personal Empowerment
Personal Empowerment is your continuous utilization of thought, energy, focus and faith, directed toward reaching your goal each day. Personal Empowerment or the ability to simply try will begin to strengthen YOU and create balance within your life. Empowerment allows YOU to develop consistency. YOU will become consistent in reviewing your goals and your personal I AM statements. With Empowerment, YOU will begin to consistently review the Empowerment pledge, implement and utilize the tools of Empowerment. Empowerment is simply trying to create and utilize your quiet space and quiet time.  It is simply trying to calm and relax yourself by utilizing stress reduction techniques. It is simply trying to turn off the TV and radio and resting peacefully at night. Empowerment is practicing visualization and attempting to create focus by finding your central focal point (creating focus mentally). Empowerment is simply trying to place yourself around positive, supportive people and managing your feeling and emotions each day. Empowerment is simply trying to reach your goal and loving yourself more today, each day, everyday, one day at a time.

Balance
- An even distribution of your (energy, thought, focus and faith) enabling YOU to remain upright and steady.
